Daniel Fröhlich studied Chemistry at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz from 2003-2008. He completed both his diploma thesis (2008) and his PhD (2009-2011) at the Institute of Nuclear Chemistry in the group of Prof. Dr. Tobias Reich. During his research he focused on the speciation of neptunium during migration in natural clay. From 2012 until 2019 he worked as a Post-Doc at the Institute of Physical Chemistry at the Ruprecht Karls University of Heidelberg in the group of Prof. Dr. Petra Panak. There he focussed on the thermodynamics of complex formation reactions of trivalent actinides with organic and inorganic ligands in aqueous solution at elevated temperatures. The used analytical methods especially included the time-resolved laser fluorescence spectroscopy (TRLFS) and extended x-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy (EXAFS).

 

Daniel Fröhlich studierte von 2003-2008 im Diplomstudiengang Chemie an der Johannes Gutenberg Universität Mainz. Er fertigte sowohl seine Diplomarbeit (2008) als auch seine Dissertation (2009-2011) am Institut für Kernchemie in der Arbeitsgruppe von Prof. Dr. Tobias Reich an und beschäftigte sich im Rahmen seiner Forschungsarbeiten mit der Speziation von Neptunium bei der Migration in natürlichem Tongestein. Von 2012 bis 2019 war er als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Physikalisch-Chemischen Institut der Ruprecht Karls Universität Heidelberg in der Arbeitsgruppe von Prof. Dr. Petra Panak tätig. Dort beschäftigte er sich mit der Thermodynamik von Komplexbildungsreaktionen dreiwertiger Actiniden mit organischen und anorganischen Liganden in wässriger Lösung bei erhöhten Temperaturen. Die Analysenmethoden umfassten vorallem die zeitaufgelöste Laserfluoreszenzspektroskopie (TRLFS) und die Röntgenabsorptions-Feinstrukturanalyse (EXAFS-Spektroskopie).
